World’s ‘most-powerful’ processor is coming to these phones soon

The new chipset is equipped with cutting-edge 5G, AI, gaming, camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, will debut on these phones.

Qualcomm’s next premium 5G mobile platform, called “Snapdragon 8 Gen 1,” is set to change the next generation of flagship products.

The new chipset, which is equipped with cutting-edge 5G, AI, gaming, camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, will be used by global OEMs and brands, with commercial products expected by the end of 2021.

The last few years have seen Qualcomm’s 8-series processors make their debut with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S-series phones. But this pattern may change this time. Xiaomi and Realme are claiming to launch phones running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in December 2021 itself.

Here are some phones that may be the very first to get this ‘powerful’ Android SoCs:

1. Realme GT 2 Pro
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the GT 2 Pro flagship will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and is set for launch in December.

2. Xiaomi 12
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had announced at the Snapdragon Tech Summit that Xiaomi 12 will be among the first smartphones to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. No official date has been set, but we are expecting to launch later this year.

3. OnePlus 10 Pro
There have been reports that the OnePlus 10 series could launch in March or April next year, with the OnePlus 10 Pro confirmed to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

4. Oppo’s unnamed flagship
Oppotoo will launch its next flagship phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The company hasn’t revealed the name or the model, but it is likely to be the upcoming Oppo Find X3 Pro successor.

5. Sony flagship smartphone
Sony too is likely to launch a device powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.

6. Upcoming RedMagic smartphone and Z series flagship phone
Yu Hang, co-founder and senior vice president, Nubia confirmed that the upcoming RedMagic gaming smartphones and Z series phones will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
